Human activity threatens our planet’s biodiversity, with over a million plant and animal species now classed as endangered. Dr. Barbara Sturm has collaborated with SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG to create a beautifully designed tumbler dedicated to the preservation of endangered wildlife.
Dr. Barbara Sturm has partnered with SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG to create the exclusive collaboration, PRECIOUS COMPANIONS; beautiful porcelain tumblers decorated with animal motifs to raise awareness around the destruction of wildlife. As a subject that’s close to Dr. Sturm’s heart, the collaborative project intends to help support the conservation of especially endangered animals, such as the elephant, turtle, and rabbit, with parts of the sales proceeds of the tumbler will be donated to the wildlife rescue organization National Park Rescue.*
“When I was asked to do a collaboration with SIEGER by FÜRSTENBERG, I was intrigued because I love interior design and collecting china, especially anything with animal motifs. These tumblers are beautiful and something everyone would love to have in their home. I chose to create them with animals that are especially endangered, whether from the force of nature or human-triggered like hunting elephants, cosmetic testing on rabbits, or turtles dying in the ocean due to plastic consumption. We need to bring awareness to the destruction of wildlife with our voices and our support, so we have also chosen to donate parts of the sales proceeds of the tumbler to the wildlife rescue organization National Park Rescue.*”

Elephant
The elephant is a Buddhist symbol signifying good luck and happiness as well as vitality and the majestic animal stands for strength, power, peace and wisdom. Sadly, poachers kill about 20,000 elephants every single year for their tusks, which has led to a steep decline in numbers and a risk of extinction. Humankind needs to protect the elephant in order to secure its survival.
Rabbit
The rabbit is very important to both Dr. Sturm and her brand as sadly, it is one of the most commonly used animals in cosmetics testing – 170,000 rabbits will be killed in U.S. laboratories this year solely for this purpose. Dr. Sturm’s Molecular Cosmetics collection is completely cruelty-free – we don’t ever test on any animals – and we want to bring attention to the fact that it’s not only cruel but absolutely unnecessary. Brands have no reason to test on animals in order to make a profit.

Life on earth would not be possible without bees, as they play a part in every aspect of the ecosystem, pollinating the plants needed for a stable, healthy food supply. It’s vital that we raise awareness to their decline and importance in nature and that we do everything we can to protect the bee population to enable it to strive again.

The turtle was chosen to raise awareness of plastic pollution in the marine environment, which is the cause of many animals dying due to eating or being caught in plastic waste. In addition, the plastic pollution also results in damage to the environment and the health of all organisms. Dr. Sturm hopes to inspire people to take action in preserving animal wildlife and our planet.

THE SPACE
The soothing, stress-free atmosphere of the space was created by architect Tobias Freytag. The aesthetic encapsulates the simple, yet luxurious spirit of the Dr. Barbara Sturm brand. Smooth concrete tables, delicate brass details, floating light fixtures and floor-to-ceiling windows are just some of the intricate design elements. A mirrored ceiling curves into the back wall of the space, adding a sense of infinity and serenity.
THE DISCOVERY TABLE
The Discovery Table allows customers to discover and try the full range of products while getting expert advice from an expert aesthetician. Dr. Sturm’s experienced team will give personal consultations and help answer skincare questions. Interactive screens and tablets offer customers further product and lifestyle information at their fingertips. In addition, customers can attend masterclasses and community events to better understand skincare, healthy ingredients and how to pursue the anti-inflammatory lifestyle.
THE TREATMENT ROOMS
The LA Boutique & Spa accommodates three treatment rooms, two express facial rooms and two infrared saunas where customers can enjoy treatments from Dr. Sturm’s wide-ranging spa menu, including the Super Anti-Aging Facial, Instant Glow Facial, Clarifying Facial, Brightening Facial, Darker Skin Tones Facial and Men’s Facial. Dr. Sturm will also be premiering advanced beauty and wellness technologies at the LA Boutique & Spa.
